Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy work unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the firey darts of the wicked.
Robin's heart: All I can say is wow. The last couple of days have been a battle. My work in the Lord is not going unnoticed by our enemy. He absolutely wants me to quit sharing what comes to my heart. Discouragement hit me like a hurricane a couple of days ago, but the storm has now lifted! Praise God! So allow me to explain my little story. Earlier today, I was taking a break from work and kind of moping around the house. Not feeling too enthusiastic about anything because I was unintentionally listening to the lies of the devil and feeling very oppressed. He is really good at his job! In other words, he is very convincing. When suddenly in my heart I heard the wonderful Holy Spirit say "THOUGHTS OF PEACE." That's all I needed to know. God's thoughts towards us are thoughts of peace. Not thoughts of anything else! His encouraging words are so on target. He said exactly what I needed to hear, plus His words must have been anointed because the discouragment immediately lifted. The Lord is so wonderful. He is our Helper, and is always there strengthening us during the battle.
The devil loves to make us feel like losers, and I might add he is really good at it. Whether we realize it or not, we have a whispering enemy. He is so weak that he sneaks around whispering thoughts to us that are contrary to God's will for us. He wants so badly to turn us away from God, and cause us to have a bad day. It seems as if he works overtime in trying to get me to quit serving My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but I will not quit. No matter how hot the fire gets. I recently posted a lesson on stubbornness. Look back a few posts if you are interested, but the bright side is that God can now use this personality trait in helping me serve him. Kind of ironic isn't it?
So the point of this message is to say that we live in a battle zone every day. The thoughts of the enemy are being slung around like bullets, arrows, darts, and sometimes even like missiles. We need to first be aware of his tactics, and secondly we need to resist him with the Helper's strength, and the word of God. In the spirit, there are head-on collisions, and rock em sock em robot punches being given. The good news is that God wins every time. We may have to take a few punches here and there, but eventually the referee steps in and calls foul on the enemy. Then boy does he RUN!
Praise God for His truth, and for prayers of the saints!
