A Warning and Command: Jesus says "Come"

Genesis 7:1 Then the Lord said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

Matthew 4:19  Then Jesus said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Matthew 11:28  Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 14:29 So Jesus said, "Come." and when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

Matt 25:33-36 And He will set the sheep on His right but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty  and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; and I was in prison and you came to me.

Luke 14:16-17  Then Jesus said to him, "A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, "come, for all things are now ready."

Robin's heart: So this morning during my prayer and time of devotion to my Loving Father and Lord, I received a mental snapshot. It looked basically exactly like the picture with this post. I initially thought it was just my imagination thinking about how wonderful the Lord is, but the snapshot stayed in my mind's eye and would not go away. At that point, I realized the Lord had a teaching message to give. He was saying to all "Come." So first, I pulled up biblegateway and searched for scriptures where Jesus said "Come." I then narrowed down the list to those I felt impressed of the Lord to highlight, and these are listed with this post. I then meditated on these scriptures for a time. Afterwards, this is the message that came to my heart.

Since the beginning of time, Father God has been saying to all "Come." He yearns for all to come to His place of safety and warmth. I can only imagine the number of times we have all been warned. This is the basic foundationally truth of His kingdom. "Come" all who are weary and heavy laden, and He will give us rest. So the question is, Why do so many people resist His gracious offer? An explanation and eye opener is in order. For one thing, it is because we think we know better than He. We think we should be able to run our own lives as we please. We are led by our minds and physical needs instead of being led by His Holy Spirit. Secondly, we have an enemy who loves nothing more then to receive our honor and praise. He works constantly to deceive. You can debate and disbelieve this truth as much as your bondages protest, but we willingly give honor to Satan as we are following his ways. Anything we do contrary to the will of God gives our enemy praise and worship whether we believe this or not. This is the full truth: there are only two kingdoms in operation. The Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Darkness. We are either serving one or the other. There is no in between.

Jesus repeatedly warns all of us to "Come." We currently have an open door into His Kingdom of light. It's a place of love, safety, revelation, wisdom, healing, security, preservation, wholeness, provision, and so much more. The Kingdom of Darkness is everything opposite, but it may temporarily give good things in order to trick us. The Holy Spirit repeatedly knocks and invites all to enter the Kingdom of Light, but so many people decline. The sad part is one day this door will close on every single solitary person who rejects His offer. Once the door is shut no one can open it. Jesus as King is the One who opens doors that no man can shut, and closes doors that no man can open. Jesus as Lord holds the keys of Death and Hell. Jesus our Savior is the only way to avoid going to that horrid place. We must enter in through Him. He is the Door. Therefore, resist not His offer. Resist not His Holy Spirit when He calls. He is knocking on the door of your heart. Open up and He will come in and make His abode within you, and teach you of His kingdom.

Revelation 6:1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "come and see."

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues."

Revelation 19:17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, "come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great."

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" and let him who hears say, "Come!" and let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
